Barrett House Shelter’s community garden includes twelve raised beds, an herb bed and a mint bed. In addition we have an 8‘x20’ greenhouse to raise plants during the winter. Our vision is for this garden to provide food for the shelter’s kitchen, as well as, provide a learning environment for the women and children at the shelter.
Sustaining and Maintaining
Volunteers are at the heart of ensuring the success of our garden. We can use volunteers on a regular committed weekly basis or for special group gardening maintenance projects. Check out our calendar for group events. The Standard Community Garden and Grounds Chores lists the work needed on a regular basis. Contact our volunteer coordinator at 505-246-9244 ext 108 for additional information to volunteer in our garden.
