Barrett Foundation offers organizations, groups, families, and individuals the opportunity to make a meaningful impact through our Adopt-a-Room program. By sponsoring a room at Barrett House Shelter, you directly support women and children experiencing homelessness in our community.
As an Adopt-a-Room sponsor, your gift helps create safe, comfortable, and welcoming spaces for families during a time of transition and healing.
What Does Sponsorship Include?
Your annual sponsorship helps with essentials such as repairs, utilities, and shelter services—making your support both personal and practical.
In addition to providing funding, Adopt-a-Room sponsors can get personally involved in shaping the space. You’ll have the opportunity to:
Take a personal tour of the Shelter
Paint and decorate your adopted room
Provide new bedding, curtains, or artwork
Make the space more welcoming for the women and children who stay there
This hands-on experience is often deeply rewarding for our sponsors and truly meaningful for our residents.

As a room sponsor, you'll receive:
Naming rights and a beautiful plaque outside the room
Invitations to Barrett Foundation events throughout the year
Optional holiday giving opportunity to sponsor the family or individual staying in your room
Visible community recognition—foundation partners and donors tour the shelter regularly, so your sponsorship shows the community and our guests your personal commitment to supporting those in need

These communal spaces are vital to daily life and provide comfort, dignity, and connection for our residents.
