Barrett Foundation offers organizations, groups, families, and individuals the opportunity to make a meaningful impact through our Adopt-a-Room program. By sponsoring a room—or another essential space—at Barrett House Shelter, you directly support women and children experiencing homelessness in Albuquerque.
As an Adopt-a-Room sponsor, your gift helps create safe, comfortable, and welcoming spaces for families during a time of transition and healing.
What Does Sponsorship Include?
Your $2,000 (twin room) or $4,000 (family room) annual sponsorship helps offset essential costs such as meals, utilities, and shelter services—making your support both personal and practical.
In addition to providing funding, Adopt-a-Room sponsors can get personally involved in shaping the space. You’ll have the opportunity to:
Paint and decorate your adopted room
Provide new bedding, curtains, or artwork
Make the space more welcoming for the women and children who stay there
This hands-on experience is often deeply rewarding for our sponsors and truly meaningful for our residents.
Recognition & Benefits
As a valued room sponsor, you'll receive:
Your name on a beautiful plaque outside the room, along with the room name (may be in honor or in memory of someone special)
One-year sponsorship term, with the opportunity to renew before it’s released to the broader community
Invitations to Barrett Foundation events throughout the year
Optional holiday giving opportunity to sponsor the family or individual staying in your room
Visible community recognition—foundation partners and donors tour the shelter regularly, so your sponsorship shows the community and our guests your personal commitment to supporting those in need
